International Interdisciplinary Forum For Young Scholars

Introduction

The 2025 Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Talents Carnival, the 2nd HKUST(GZ) Fusion·Innovation·Envision International Interdisciplinary Forum and the 3rd Annual Conference of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (China Chapter) will be held in August, 2025. This event, designed as a carnival, aims to create a platform for global academic talents to connect, exchange ideas, and showcase the innovation and vitality of outstanding young scholars. It will also highlight the unique interdisciplinary academic structure of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and its mission to lead the transformation of higher education.

We warmly invite exceptional young scholars from around the world to participate, explore academic frontiers, and collaborate in driving innovation and development.

Registration Requirements

1

Adherence to the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, commitment to scientific ethics, and embodiment of the spirit of modern scientists.

Under the age of 40.

Hold (or be expected to obtain within the next year) a Ph.D. from a prestigious overseas university, or have obtained a Ph.D. from a well-known domestic university, with at least 12 consecutive months of formal teaching or research experience at an overseas university, research institute, or corporate R&D department.

Have research or technical achievements recognized by experts in their field and demonstrate strong potential to become leading academics or outstanding talents in their disciplines.

Exceptionally qualified candidates may be exempt from conditions 2 and 3.

Eligible applicants are requested to register via the following link. Please complete and submit your application materials by June 30, 2025, 12:00 PM (China Standard Time, CST).

Invitation
The university will send invitation letters by July 10, 2025 (CST). Please check the email you used for registration regularly.

Confirmation
Invitees are requested to complete and submit the Attendance Information Form within five working days upon receiving the invitation letter, to confirm their participation.

The above information is subject to change, and the specific schedule will be sent with the invitation letter.

Expense

1. Accommodation and meals during the forum will be arranged by the university.

2. The university will cover round-trip travel (international and domestic) of the invited participants. Participants are requested to book travel tickets by themselves, keep receipts and submit relevant materials to the forum organizer (airline tickets are limited to economy class, and high-speed rail tickets are limited to second-class seats).
